UK airline announces major Swedish direct services connecting Karlstad with one of Europe’s largest airport hubs

New scheduled flights linking Karlstad directly with Frankfurt Airport in Germany will commence in May 26 2014, it was announced today.
The services from Karlstad to Frankfurt Airport will be the first direct scheduled air link between Karlstad and Germany. The announcement that the UK’s most punctual airline is to fly direct services to Frankfurt from Karlstad has been widely welcomed by the Karlstad business community, as it represents the culmination of extensive work by industry and the public sector to achieve enhanced connectivity between Karlstad and the rest of the world.

Cathal O’Connell, CEO of bmi, said: “The launch of this Karlstad to Frankfurt routes is part of the bmi strategy of expanding into markets with growth possibilities for our business model. The compelling business case presented to us by the airport, combined with the growth opportunities for business and leisure travel to and from Karlstad, convinced bmi to launch connecting flights to Frankfurt. bmi have existing experience of serving the Swedish business and leisure traveller, as we fly from Gothenburg to Stavanger in Norway and Birmingham in England. We look forward to adding to Karlstad to our network in Sweden and bringing the fantastic bmi product to the people of Karlstad”.

The Karlstad – Frankfurt service will operate with 49-seat Embraer 145 jets and commence in May 26 2014 Flights will operate six days a week, Sunday to Friday, departing at 16:00 arriving at 18:00 in Frankfurt. The return flight from Frankfurt will depart at 18:30 arriving 20:30 in Karlstad.
