The prettiest and largest of Hamburg’s sixteen markets is held are the Town Hall where bakers from Aachen and woodcarvers from Tyrol offer delicious treats and tempting stocking-fillers. Explore decorated stalls, drink warming punch and be entertained by circus artists. A flying Father Christmas hovers his sleigh three times a day above the Town Hall from 22 November to 23 December and each Saturday in Advent features a festive parade.

Frankfurt Christmas Market from Bristol - Romerberg Square, Paulsplatz, Mainkai, Hauptwache and Friedrich Stoltze-Square – flybmi fares from £104 one way

Frankfurt Christmas Market is one of the oldest, largest and most popular in Germany and is a showcase for arts and crafts, and seasonal food and drink. With over 200 stalls in four picture-postcard settings, entertainment includes concerts, trumpet fanfares from the balcony of St. Nicholas’s Church and bell ringing from the church carillon. The huge Christmas tree acts as a spectacular centrepiece. The market runs from 26 November to 22 December 2018 from 10am – 9pm daily (11am on Sundays).

Brussels Winter Wonders and Christmas Market from East Midlands, Bristol and Newcastle – flybmi fares from £75 one way

From 30 November – 06 January Brussels plays host to its Winter Wonders and Christmas Market 2018. Amongst the highlights are 200 chalet style stalls, fairground attractions, covered ice rink and a Christmas Tree and sound and light show at the Grand Palace.
