What is the fee if I have sports or musical equipment that I wish to bring?

Passengers travelling on an Executive fare can take a piece of sporting equipment or other exceptional items of baggage as part of their baggage allowance as long as it is within the total combined allowance of 46kg.

If the sports or musical equipment weighs over 23kg, a fixed £50/€57 fee applies and can be booked online or via the call centre/travel agent for a set fee or at airports for £100/€114 each way per sector fee applies on all Sale, Classic and ClassicPlus fares.

Sporting or musical equipment can be added via the Manage My Booking section of the website up to four hours in advance of travel. Please note fees may apply and these items are carried subject to availability.

The following are examples of some of the most popular items that are classed as sporting equipment*:

  • Golf – one pair of golf shoes & one golf bag with clubs
  • Skiing/ Snowboarding – one pair of skis/poles/boots or snowboard and boots
  • Bicycles
  • Fishing – one tackle box, rucksack, backpack, anglers basket, one rod bag or box
  • Surfboards/ Sailboards/ Water Skis
  • Canoes
