bmi time

Following eight months of consultation and feedback with customers, travel agents and staff, bmi is to launch a new customer initiative focusing on the business traveller.

bmi understands the importance of your customer’s time. Therefore, we want to ensure your customers time with bmi is spent in the best possible way.

meal time
While a paid-for in-flight catering service will remain a feature of shorthaul services from Heathrow, from 02 April all blue plus, silver and gold Diamond Club members will be entitled to complimentary food and drink onboard.

Don't forget to enter your customers Diamond Club membership number when they book, and remind them to keep their card handy when they fly on our Heathrow routes.

on time
We’ve improved our punctuality to keep us the most punctual British airline flying out of Heathrow and the UK’s most punctual airline on regional services for the second year running, so your customers get home on time.

save time
bmi online check-in saves time at the airport. Customers can check in from 24 hours to 30 minutes before their flight. They simply print their boarding card from their own computer before they leave or at one of the bmi web points at the airport. And our bmi fast bag drop means they save even more time – they just drop their bags and head straight for departures.

quality time
If Diamond Club, premium economy and business class customers have time to spare before the flight, they can relax in our refurbished lounges with a complimentary drink or snack, browse through a selection of magazines or catch up on the television news.

free time
bmi’s Diamond Club is one of the most generous frequent flyer programmes, earning members flights quickly.

Under the new initiative Diamond Club will see the introduction of a new tier – blue plus – which is automatically awarded once 3,000 status miles have been earned in a 12 month period.  It takes as little as two UK return flights at a premium economy fare to reach blue plus status.

Holders of blue plus, silver and gold cards will receive the complimentary in-flight meal, priority seating, as well as their existing Diamond Club benefits, such as the rewards scheme and lounge access, depending on their level of membership.

bed time
Later this year, all business cabins on bmi's longhaul aircraft will be fitted with lie-flat beds so your customers can enjoy a restful flight.

There’s never been a better time to book bmi!

notes
• Diamond Club membership is available to all customers.
o the frequent flyer programme is made up of four membership levels – blue, blue plus, silver and gold. Every time a flight is taken with bmi or a Star Alliance carrier, membership status miles and destinations miles are earned. Membership status miles build towards higher status, while destinations miles can be spent on award flights to hundreds of worldwide destinations with bmi and Star Alliance partners, or spent on anything from hotels to car hire
o any existing holders of the standard blue Diamond Club card will automatically be sent a blue plus card if 3,000 status miles have been earned in the past 12 months. Any new Diamond Club members earning 3,000 status miles in a 12 month period will also earn blue plus status. Members have to keep flying and earning status miles in each membership year to retain their status level
• the new initiative applies to shorthaul bmi services to and from Heathrow. bmi operates a single-class operation on all its shorthaul routes from Heathrow with the exception of Belfast City, Brussels, Dublin, Edinburgh and Glasgow where both business and economy cabins are on offer
