We are pleased to announce the opening of our new international lounge, bmi Number One Heathrow.
The flagship lounge has been designed with customer comforts in mind and provides a stylish environment in which to work, relax, dine and refresh.
bmi Number One Heathrow is the perfect stop for bmi customers connecting to any of bmi's international destinations where they can choose to relax, refresh or rehydrate between flights and enjoy some homely British comforts.
Find a zone to suit your mood
The space is divided into informal zones that cater to the varying needs of the international traveller - the emphasis being on providing a sense of comfort and familiarity.
Customers can sit back and relax in our lounge, offering comfortable seating and newspapers, catch up on some work in our study with wi-fi access and individual desks, or get into bed for a sleep in the comfort of our Slumber area. There are shower facilities provided and complimentary toiletries are replenished throughout the day.
An informal, but sophisticated British pub environment is created in The Local where customers can unwind around a welcoming leather-buttoned horseshoe shaped bar and help themselves to a choice of branded beverages including Fullers London Pride ale and English rosé wine in keeping with the strong British theme.
The Cafe is centred around a stunning custom-made black Aga where steaming hot soup is available all day as well as a range of delicious food around the clock. Customers can enjoy:
- Soup and a selection breads
- A choice of fresh sandwiches
- Salads and pasta, and salad dressings created by the renouned chef Mark Hix
- Mark Hix ice cream - caramel and honeycomb chocolate or Blueberry and Dorset Honey flavours
The styling and design throughout the lounge also emphasises Britain's best, both traditional and contemporary. Materials and colours are rich and sensual - reinforcing the indulgent, yet welcoming atmosphere.
Lounge dining and night-time supper service
We are pleased to announce that our new lounge dining and supper menu is now available to Business Class customers flying on the night-time service to Moscow and Tel Aviv.
From 8.30pm every day, your customers can help themselves to a three-course meal including:
- Hot soup and bread rolls
- Macaroni cheese
- Selection of salads and hot pasta
- Hot salt beef, bagels, rye bread, pickles
- English cheese board
- Mark Hix ice cream
Night-time supper menu
New night-time supper menus have been introduced on flights to Tel Aviv and Moscow to complement our lounge dining. Customers can dine before they fly, and then relax or sleep on the flight without being disturbed for meals. View an example menu

bmi Number One Heathrow is located above Gate 5 in Terminal 1. It does not feature a reception desk - instead customers are welcomed inside by members of the Lounge Team.
