This page will give an overview of the baggage items you can carry, please refer to the full information in the baggage section.
items banned from hand luggage
Please advise passengers that for safety reasons, the following items are not permitted in the passenger’s cabin luggage. All of the following items must be carried in your checked baggage:
- toy or replica guns
- pointed or bladed articles capable of causing injury, including but not limited to knives with blades of any length, razorblades, darts, scissors, knitting needles, corkscrews
- any blunt instrument capable of causing injury, including but not limited to baseball/cricket bats, golf clubs, billiard/snooker and pool cues.
items to be carried onboard
Do not place any of the following items in checked baggage, they must be with the passenger onboard the aircraft:
- tickets, passports or other travel documents/ identification papers
- fragile articles (including bottles containing liquid)
- jewellery, precious metals and other valuables, money, credit cards, cheques, negotiable papers, important documents, cameras, camcorders, car key, house keys etc.
- medicines
- Liability is not accepted for the loss, delayed delivery of, or damage to any of the above items packed in checked in baggage.
Medicines and toiletries in limited quantities such as hairsprays, perfumes, colognes and medicines containing alcohol, may be carried.
These are carried providing the net quantity of each single article does not exceed 0.5kg 0r 0.5L. The total quantity per person must not exceed 2kg or 2L.
items not permitted on aircraft
For safety reasons, the following items are not permitted in the passenger’s baggage:
- compressed gases – flammable, non-flammable and poisonous, e.g. butane, oxygen, liquid nitrogen, aqualung cylinders
- corrosives – such as acids, alkalis, apparatus containing mercury, wet cell batteries
- explosives – munitions, fireworks, flares – such as hand guns, pistolcaps and ammunition
- flammable liquids and solids – such as lighter fuel, ‘strike anywhere’ matches, paints, thinners, firelights
- radioactive materials
- briefcases and attaché cases with installed alarm devices
- oxidising materials such as bleaching powder and peroxides
- poisons and infectious substances such as insecticides weed killers and live viruses
- magnetised materials
- offensive or irritating materials
items subject to additional regulations and/or operator approval
- medical oxygen
- heat producing articles
- mercury barometer or thermometer
- other dangerous articles may be carried as air cargo provided that they are packed in accordance with the Dangerous Goods Act. Please check with our travel trade line if you have additional questions and or queries.
