bmi removes fuel surcharges

bmi removes fuel surcharges on European and domestic routes to/from LHR

London Heathrow’s second largest carrier bmi has today removed fuel surcharges on all UK and European flights departing from or arriving at London Heathrow. New fares can be accessed now via GDS, online or via the call centre. This initiative recognises the current economic situation and the need to provide more affordable and transparent air fares for business and leisure travellers.

GDS fare display
Please ensure all consultants that are responsible for booking air travel are aware that bmi now displays the complete fare in the GDS with no additional surcharges.

Key points for travel agents:

  • This change affects bmi operated routes on our European and domestic network to/from London Heathrow only (excluding Moscow and Tel Aviv)
  • This change will also affect intra-line journeys within Europe (BD to BD - EDI-LHR-AMS)
  • YQ will still be applicable on any BD intra-line itineraries beyond London to the following locations – UK-Middle East, UK-Eastern Europe/CIS and UK-Africa. (Although at a reduced rate due to the European reductions).
  • YQ will also still be applicable on any BD interline fares in conjunction with other carriers to such destinations as UK-USA, UK-Canada, UK-South Africa, UK-Germany, etc
