Please see below questions you should ask your passenger to assess if medical clearance required.  

stroke – cerebrovascular accident (CVA)

questions:  

How long ago did you have your stroke?

Less than 4 weeks – medical clearance required

More than 4 weeks – proceed to next question

Have you had a complete recovery?

No – certificate of fitness to fly is required plus oxygen

Yes – proceed to next question

Do you have any weakness left?

No – proceed to the next question

Yes – certificate of fitness to fly is required plus oxygen

Do you have any speech problems?

No – proceed to next question

Yes – certificate of fitness to fly is required and proceed to next question

Will you be accompanied by someone who can look after you?

No – certificate of fitness to fly is required…....also you must ensure that the flight supervisor is notified 

Contact the reservation helpdesk who will contact our crewing department.

Yes – accept for travel

deep vein thrombosis (DVT)

There are some medical conditions that make people more prone to DVT and the following are examples:

 those at minor riskthose at moderate riskthose at substantial risk
aged over 40recent heart deasiesprevious or current DVT
very tall, very short or obesepregnant or one any hormone medication, particularly the contraceptive pill and HRT 
known clotting tendency
previous or current leg swelling from any causerecent major leg injury or leg surgery (less than 6 weeksrecent major surgery or stroke (within 6 weeks)
recent minor leg injury or minor body surgeryfamily history of DVTcurrent malignant disease or chemotherapy
minor varicose veinsextensive varicose veinsparalysed lower limb
 polycythaemiadepletion of body fluids causing increased blood thickening
