UNMRs

bmi provides a UMNR service for children aged 5 to 11 years on all flights except bmi's long haul services involving transfers/connections for children aged 8 to 11 years.

UMNR overview

  • If an unaccompanied child is connecting from a bmi flight to a bmi long haul service, the higher age limit of 8 years applies.
  • The air fare for UMNRs is the applicable fare tariff, plus a £35 per direction supervision fee on bmi services.

  • Where the UMNR is connecting to/from another carrier, a separate UMNR supervision fee may be charged by that carrier.

  • UMNRs cannot be accepted on a standby basis

  • Where UMNRs are brothers and sisters resident at the same address and travelling together on the same flights, the supervision fee only applies once per direction.
  • Young adults between 12 and 15 years are regarded as Young Passengers (YP's). The UMNR service for these passengers carries the same supervision fee and is booked through bmi reservations.

The UMNR service must be requested and paid for in full at the time of booking. This service cannot be booked online.

At least 24 hours notice prior to travel is required. Requests within 24 hours are only accepted on a discretionary basis by bmi reservations.

This service is available on 'standard' or higher fares. As it cannot be booked online, there is no call centre reservations fee.
