Travel agents should be aware of the following instructions, which must be followed:

All UK and ROI based travel agents booking passengers scheduled travel to and from Riyadh, must now be aware of the following requirements: -
Effective immediately, at time of pnr creation agents must provide a contact telephone number for their passengers for contact post travel and a contact telephone number for their passenger pre travel. (KSA mobile numbers are not accepted).
*If no contact numbers are provided pnr’s will be cancelled.
Holy water policy - carriage of holy water on LHR- RUH
The cultural traffic that fly on the Riyadh route has a requirement to bring holy water back into the UK. This requirement is greatest during the hajj period.
bmi has the following policy on the carriage of holy water and the baggage allowance on this route has been revised to reflect this need.
Each passenger is to be given an additional checked baggage allowance on this route for up to 10 litres of holy water in a single container. The container must be shrink-wrapped and secure. The holy water container cannot be carried onboard as hand luggage.
This policy is in line with the national carrier policy on the routes and is standard practise in the Gulf region.
Additional containers will be charged as excess baggage.
