Holy water policy - carriage of holy water on LHR- JED
The cultural traffic that fly on the Jeddah route has a requirement to bring holy water back into the UK. This requirement is greatest during the hajj period.
bmi has the following policy on the carriage of holy water and the baggage allowance on this route has been revised to reflect this need.
Each passenger is to be given an additional checked baggage allowance on this route for up to 10 litres of holy water in a single container. The container must be shrink-wrapped and secure. The holy water container cannot be carried onboard as hand luggage.
This policy is in line with the national carrier policy on the routes and is standard practise in the Gulf region.
Additional containers will be charged as excess baggage.
