  • name changes are permitted free of charge before ticketing, after ticketing the charge can be upto £75 to reissue a ticket
  • if a booking is cancelled inside 14 days of travel for shorthaul or 28 days of travel for leisure/ medium/ longhaul the tickets are non-refundable.
  • if the group reduces to less than 10 passengers the fare will revert to the lowest applicable published rate, however BD do also have the right to cancel the booking and all deposits would be lost.

ticketing

IATA agents can issue their own tickets by creating a passive booking in their CRS, which should be cancelled after the tickets have been issued. Tickets must be issued against a tour code allocated by the groups department. Passsive bookings should be used for paper ticket routes only.

ATOL agents cannot issue tickets, this must be done through bmi at a fee of £7.00 per ticket.

These are guidelines only and where possible we will be flexible according to the client’s requirements.

Quotes or enquiries can be made by calling the bmi group sales department on 0870 1 222 888, Or email us on group.sales@flybmi.com

e-tickets

The 3rd October 2005 saw bmi introducing e-ticket for groups, see below the guidelines to assist with this new procedure:

You can only issue an e-ticket on itineraries where there is no other carrier in the PNR except bmi.  Interline e-ticketing is not available for group bookings.  If there are other carriers in the PNR a paper ticket must be issued.

As agents you must "claim" your PNR in order to issue e-tickets (passive bookings will not work). See below for further information on how to 'claim'. If you are unable to claim your booking please contact the bmi group sales dept for assistance on 08701 222 888 or group.sales@flybmi.com

You MUST enter the e-ticket numbers into the booking as an SSR TKNE element (an SSR remark) so that they can be viewed at check-in.  If they are entered as an OSI remark, the airports will not be able to see the ticket numbers.
If an infant is travelling they must be linked to an adult in the booking who has a FOID.

form of identification (FOID)

We strongly advise that FOIDS are entered into the booking in order to allow the passengers to use the bmi self Check-in Machines. FOIDS need to be passenger related rather than group related. The self check-in machine FOID can be either by a credit, debit or bmi Diamond Club card.

The best way to use the self check-in machine is to have a FOID for each person, or each group of people who will be checking in together.  The FOID must be entered into the booking in advance and the passenger or group must have the FOID with them at check-in.

If you forget to enter a FOID in the booking, a group can use the self check-in machine without a FOID by entering a card in a passengers name. The machine will ask the passenger to enter the destination or flight number and will attempt to find a booking in their name. Note that due to the need to be sure of the persons ID this method will not have a 100% success rate (duplicate names etc).
