night before check-in for transatlantic customers+

Avoid the rush hour traffic or a hectic hotel check out!

Night before check-in is a fantastic service from bmi which gives you an opportunity to check-in for your transatlantic flight the evening before you fly.

Our transatlantic check-in service at Manchester airport is open between 19:00 and 21:00hrs at the bmi check-in desk 23 in Terminal 3.

+Please note, night before check-in will not be available on Christmas Day or New Year’s Eve.

If you live within easy driving distance from Manchester airport or you are staying overnight at a nearby hotel you can check in all your luggage and collect your boarding pass the evening prior to departure.

  • all members of your family or group must be present with tickets and passports
  • you must check-in all your bags, if you need to check in any additional baggage on the day of departure you will have to join the check-in queue again
  • once you have checked in you will need to leave local contact number where you will be staying overnight
  • arrive at the airport 2 hours prior to departure and continue straight to the gate allocated for your flight

Caribbean fax check-in

Reduce time spent at the airport and maximise your time in the sun by using fax check-in at our Caribbean destinations.

Simply complete a bmi fax check-in form and fax to the bmi handling agent one day in advance of your departure.

You then need only allow a minimum of 90 minutes to report to the bmi check-in desk where you can check-in your baggage and collect your boarding pass.

Forms are available from the bmi handling agency representative in the arrivals hall at your destination.

  • make bookings for flights (for more than two hours ahead)

priority check-in

If you’re flying in business or premium economy, you can make the most of our priority check-in desks. Diamond Club gold members are also welcome to use these desks regardless of fare choice, as are silver card members except when traveling on a tiny fare.

telephone check-in

If you’re traveling with hand baggage only in business or on a premium economy fare, or are a Diamond Club member you can check-in by telephone – for details of this facility, click here.

keeping punctual – allow more time for security measures

We’re continuing to drive forward our campaign to improve punctuality and get your flights away on time. You can help us by making sure you’re aware of the latest check-in times and leave plenty of time for increased security checks.

There have been some changes to the security process at London Heathrow which may also be introduced into other airports across our network in the future.

the changes mean that:

  • if you are taking a laptop with you, it will need to be removed from its bag to be screened separately
  • if you are wearing a belt, you will need to remove it before you are body searched at security

lounge and gate check-in

Passengers traveling in business class, premium economy and gold and silver Diamond Club members* can now check in at the Business Lounges, and at the departure gate at some airports (with paper tickets only). Check individual airport information for details.

*except silver members traveling on a tiny fare

connecting customers

If you’re connecting via London Heathrow with baggage, you must check-in at least 60 minutes prior to departure or the stated check-in time, if this is longer.
