Self Check-in

Why queue up at the Check-in Desk when you can check yourself in using our quick and easy-to-use Self Check-in Machines?

Who can use Self Check-in?

Self Check-in Machines are available at most bmi airports within the UK and Ireland. They close 30 minutes prior to departure for UK Domestic and Western European shorthaul flights, and 45 minutes prior to departure for all other routes.

Economy passengers travelling on a shorthaul route must use either a Self Check-in Machine, where available, or our Online Check-in service.

Business or Flexible Economy passengers, and Gold or Silver Diamond Club members have the option of using either a Self Check-in Machine or the manned Check-in Desks.

How do I use Self Check-in?

Using our Self Check-in Machines is simple:

  • To identify your reservation, either use your booking reference, e-ticket number, credit card or frequent flyer card, or you may scan your passport
  • Please note, the receipt will only be printed if you request it, and the receipt has not previously been printed
  • Take your documents from the machine and proceed to departure gate or lounge
  • If you have bags to check in then proceed to a bmi Fast Bag Drop, where available, or a bmi Check-in Desk.
