The Great British Lounge

Our flagship lounge at London Heathrow, The Great British Lounge, is available for all Diamond Club (Gold and Silver) members, Business Class customers, and Star Alliance Gold customers travelling to international destinations on flights operated by bmi (excluding codeshare flights or flights operated on behalf of a partner airline) from London Heathrow.

  • Open daily from 5am to 10pm
  • Free WiFi access is available. The study area provides a work environment with desktop pcs and fast broadband, desk seating and a boardroom style table
  • Our quiet area with day beds is available when you need to sleep
  • Showers and complimentary toiletries and towels are available
  • The café provides food and drink throughout the day including a selection of hot snacks for dining before your evening flight.
  • The Local is our sophisticated yet informal British pub. Perfect for enjoying a refreshing drink before you fly.

The London Room

The London Room is bmi's UK and Ireland lounge at London Heathrow.

The London Room is available for all bmi Diamond Club Gold and Silver members and Flexible Economy and Economy Extra customers.

Business Lounges

Our Business Lounges are available for bmi Diamond Club Gold and Silver members, Business Class customers and customers travelling on a shorthaul route with a Economy Flexible or Economy Extra ticket*.

  • Complimentary snacks
  • Sky TV and teletext facilities (at selected airports)
  • Dedicated business area with fax machines, photocopiers and dataports (at selected airports) 
  • Complimentary newspapers and magazines (includes Daily Mail, Financial Times, Daily Telegraph and The Times)
  • Personal boarding service (at selected airports).

Star Alliance Gold Lounges

If you have a Star Alliance Gold card and are travelling on a Star Alliance carrier operated flight, you and a guest may use any lounge that has a Star Alliance Gold sign.

Wireless access facility

Wireless internet access (Wi-Fi) is available in the bmi Business Class Lounge at Belfast, Dublin, Edinburgh, London Heathrow and Manchester airports. Many other bmi contract lounges across the network also provide wi-fi or PC access.

Code of conduct in lounges

Children under the age of 18 years on eligible tickets can access the bmi Business Lounge if supervised by a parent or guardian. 

No alcohol may be consumed by anyone under 18 years of age. Only alcohol served in the lounge may be consumed within the lounge.

bmi and their lounge agents reserve the right to ask to leave the lounge or refuse entry to persons or groups deemed disruptive or under the influence. 

*If you're travelling on an Economy Flexible ticket you will only be eligible to access bmi lounges, which are at Belfast City, Dublin, Edinburgh, London Heathrow and Manchester.
