Health and Safety

EU citizens should apply for a European Health Insurance Card before departure, which entitles them to free or reduced cost treatment in all EU countries. This only covers emergency treatment so comprehensive travel and medical insurance are strongly advised

Flights to Copenhagen arrive at Copenhagen Airport Kastrup, situated 12km east of the city centre. There is a regular train service (30DKK) from the airport to Hovedbånegard, Copenhagen's central station, with journey times of just 12 minutes. Taxis (170–250DKK) are available from outside the arrivals hall.

Rosenborg Castle

Rosenborg Slot: Set amid the King's Garden, the 17th-century Renaissance castle of Rosenborg with its turrets, winding staircases and sumptuous interiors, once stood outside the city walls, a royal retreat from the cares of government. View the crown jewels exhibited in the basement.

Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek

Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek: This world-class collection is housed in a grand 19th-century building complete with palm-strewn winter garden (where you can have lunch) with a modern extension by the acclaimed architect Henning Larsen. Exhibits range from ancient Greek, Roman and Egyptian statuary to 19th-century French and Danish paintings, including an entire wing devoted to the Impressionists.

National Museum

Nationalmuseet: Beautifully set in a former palace, the National Museum is the place to find out about Danish history. Highlights include the State Rooms, and an astonishing prehistoric gallery, newly renovated, where treasures such as the Gundestrup Cauldron, a bronze-age sun chariot, and several oak burial coffins, including one holding the intact remains of a young girl, are all on display.

Quick Lunch - Era Ora

Italian, stylish, Michelin-starred and situated on a bank of the Christianshavn canal, Era Ora is the perfect place for a business lunch.

Top Table - Geranium

A newly awarded Michelin star has made getting a table at Geranium a tall order. Sitting pretty in a stylish conservatory with outside terrace on the edges of Kongens Have, this organic restaurant is a real treat.
