Online Check-in

Online Check-in is available on bmi operated flights. This service becomes available 24 hours before the scheduled departure time and will remain open right up until 30 minutes before departure for UK domestic and Western European shorthaul flights, and 45 minutes prior to departure for all other routes.

Online check-in closes 1 hour before departure if travelling from Addis Ababa, Almaty, Amman, Amritsar, Baku, Beirut, Bishkek, Cairo, Casablanca, Dammam, Freetown, Jeddah, Marrakech, Riyadh, Tbilisi, Tehran, Tripoli or Yerevan.

Not only is Online Check-in both fast and convenient, it also offers the following benefits:

• Choose your own seat(s)
• Print your own boarding pass
• Have your boarding pass delivered directly to your mobile phone via our Paperless Boarding service (selected routes only)
• If you are only travelling with hand baggage and already have either a printed or paperless boarding pass, you can go straight through security to the departure lounge
• Drop off your bags at the bmi Bag Drop*
• No access to a printer?  - select 'collect at airport' if your mobile phone does not have internet access or the route does not permit paperless boarding. 

If you are experiencing difficulty printing your boarding pass, you can:

• Email your boarding pass to your email address and print it once you have access to a printer
• Collect your boarding pass from the bmi Check-in Desk at the airport

Please note once a boarding pass has been sent to your e-mail address, unless printed on paper this will not allow access through security.

* This service is currently available at Aberdeen, Belfast City, Dublin, Edinburgh, Glasgow, London Heathrow and Manchester.

One of the great benefits of Online Check-in is Paperless Boarding.  For the ultimate in speed and convenience, simply select Paperless Boarding when checking in, to have your boarding pass sent directly to your mobile phone (available on selected routes).

Your boarding pass will be sent to your internet enabled phone via an SMS message. The message will contain a link to download your boarding pass.

Paperless Boarding is currently available to and from:

• On all bmi operated flights out of London Heathrow, plus:

• Aberdeen to London Heathrow
• Aberdeen to Manchester
• Aberdeen to Norwich*
• Belfast City to London Heathrow
• Dublin to London Heathrow
• Edinburgh to Leeds Bradford
• Edinburgh to London Heathrow
• Edinburgh to Manchester
• Glasgow to Leeds Bradford
• Manchester to London Heathrow
• Hanover to London Heathrow

* Not available from Norwich to Aberdeen

Unfortunately, at this time, we are unable to offer Online Check-in to passengers travelling to Agadir, Damascus, Esbjerg or Groningen.

IMPORTANT: Although Online Check-in is available to customers travelling from Addis Ababa, Almaty, Amman, Amritsar, Baku, Beirut, Bishkek, Cairo, Casablanca, Dammam, Freetown, Jeddah, Marrakech, Moscow, Riyadh, Tbilisi, Tehran and Tripoli, no boarding pass can be printed. Please obtain your boarding pass from the airport check-in desk.

All customers printing their boarding cards at home and flying between the UK and the Republic of Ireland must present an acceptable form of photographic ID at security.
