World / Europe / Spain

Myriad tourist attractions and thriving business centres attract millions of foreign visitors every year to Spain. Tourism is one of the country's most important industries, and it's hardly surprising given the near year-round sunshine and stunning beaches - a perfect opportunity to mix business with pleasure. Leisure travellers flock to the beaches of the Costa del Sol, Costa Blanca and Costa Brava, whilst Spain's islands include the sun-drenched Canary Isles and the Mediterranean islands of Ibiza, Mallorca, Menorca and Formentera, which attract party lovers and solitude seekers in equal measure.

But holidays in Spain offer more than sea and sand. Moorish influenced cities, such as Cordoba and Granada appeal to architecture and history buffs, and Galacia's UNESCO-listed Pilgrim Walk, Camino de Santiago, is more than 1,000 years old. Both the capital Madrid and Barcelona, famous for tasty tapas dishes and ornate Gaudi architecture, are top weekend break destinations but lesser visited Bilbao and Seville are equally interesting. Whether you're visiting on business or on holiday Spain's bright skies and sunny days mean you'll be reluctant to leave.
