Galleries of Justice

Galleries of Justice: There has been a court on this central Lace Market site since at least 1375, and the building housed both the courts and city prison in the 18th century. The tour takes in seven key sites, including Sherwood Forest and Edwinstowe village, where, according to the legend's happy ending, Robin and Maid Marian were finally married. Listen to the soundtrack whilst driving the trail, or consult the audiovisual displays at each location to bring the legend to life.

Star City: The future under communism

Named after the USSR’s secret cosmonaut training base, Star City will, this spring, explore a vision of life imagined under communism. Featuring work from artists who grew up in the Eastern Bloc and have only emerged internationally in the past decade – including names such as Goshka Macuga and Pawel Althamer – the exhibition will also feature work from artists who practiced at the height of the Cold War - alongside propaganda and objects from the period – including a life-size replica of Sputnik. Wonderful stuff.
