Tate Modern

Tate Modern: The building stars almost as much as the artworks, as this former power station now dominates the Thames skyline on the south bank. Inside, the Tate Modern houses international modern art of every conceivable description – some more credible than others. The main Turbine Hall usually contains an impressive major work, specially commissioned for the space.

London Eye

London Eye: Seven years in the making and debuting in March 2000, this colossal wheel takes you up in a transparent pod to get the full panorama of the city. The London Eye turns at just 1km per hour, as you climb to 135 metres. At 800 people per revolution, it's advisable to book your flight.

Borough Market

Borough Market: Just outside the city near London Bridge, this artisan's market has become one of London's major foodie attractions. During the week, a limited number of stall holders bring their gourmet selections for sampling, but the true spirit of Borough Market can be found early at the weekends, when it's worth getting up to enjoy the free samples!
