St Stephen's Cathedral

St Stephen's Cathedral: Admire the multi-coloured roof of Vienna's much-photographed landmark. Try to visit on a sunny day and see how the sun shining through its needle-like windows illuminates its Baroque interior. And if you're fit enough to climb to the top of the spire, you'll be rewarded with stunning city views.

Hofburg Imperial Palace

Hofburg Imperial Palace: The home of the great Hofburgs for 600 years, the palace now houses the Austrian president's offices, the Royal Treasury, Royal apartments and numerous celebrated museums. Look out for the Royal Chapel, too. The Vienna Boy's Choir sing Mass here every Sunday as they have since 1498. Other highlights include the Spanish Riding School's museum. A short walk away is the Spanische Hofreitschule where top equestrians on white Lipizzaner horses perform ‘ballet' to the sound of classical music.

Vienna State Opera

Vienna State Opera:  No visit to Vienna would be complete without a night at the opera. Watch the classics performed by world-class artists in a truly magical setting.

Quick Lunch - Regina Margherita

Head for Regina Margherita to sample ‘a la carte' pizzas in the courtyard of the Palais Esterhazy. Pizzas are cooked in a Neopolitan oven, the toppings are seriously spicy, and wine by the glass goes down a treat.

Top Table - DO&CO Albertina

Visit the DO&CO Albertina, where the chef excels in preparing culinary works of art in keeping with the museum's masterpieces. Viennese cuisine is a speciality.

Cheap Eat - Centimeter

Centimeter is a chain frequented by the city's young and trendy set. Sandwiches in innovative variations are ordered by the centimetre.

On Business - The Vienna Marriott Hotel
