Online Check-in - frequently asked questions
1. What is bmi Online Check-in?
bmi Online Check-in enables you to check-in at home, at the office or anywhere you can access the internet. It is available on the majority of bmi routes (excluding longhaul). For the list of routes available, please click here.
2. Can I print my own boarding pass?
You can print your boarding pass at home and if you don't have any bags to check-in you can go straight to security on arrival at the airport.
The online boarding pass must be printed on A4 white paper and will include a 2D barcode, which will be scanned by airport security staff.
3. I've checked-in online, but cannot print my boarding pass?
You can print your boarding pass at the bmi Webpoints available at London Heathrow, Edinburgh and Glasgow. Alternatively, go to the Premium Economy Check-in Desk at the airport.
4. Can I change my seat?
Yes, you can change your seat when you check-in online.
5. I have hold luggage, can I still check-in online?
Yes. On arrival at the airport, present your bmi Online Check-in boarding pass at the bmi Bag Drop, along with your bags to be checked in. Once the bags are checked-in you can proceed to the security area with your online boarding pass.
Please note, passengers printing their boarding cards at home and flying from Dublin must present an acceptable form of photographic ID at security. When you drop your bags at our Online Fast Bag Drop Desks at Dublin, your printed boarding pass will be exchanged for a boarding card which will enable you to proceed through security.
6. When can I use Online Check-in?
You can check-in online from 24 hours prior to departure, up until 30 minutes before departure. Please ensure you leave enough time to clear security and arrive at the departure gate before your flight closes.
7. Can I check-in online if travelling with an infant?
Unfortunately, you cannot check-in online as we need to allocate appropriate seating.
